Lot: 28 Description: CAL. ST. C. RR GRIPMAN #30 - (California Street Cable Railroad) tin cap badge with red celluloid center and white letters. Manufactured by Heeren Bros. & Co., Pittsburg PA. This early cable line was built in 1878 to run up California Street where Leland Stanford and other execs were building their mansions. It served 11,000 riders when it was completed.
