Lot: 87 Description: DNW&P MARCIA BLANKET – (Denver North Western & Pacific) Interwoven letters appear at the center of this wool blanket, which shows no manufacturer’s marks and measures 58” x 80”. This rare piece was made for the Marcia business car, built for David Moffat and named after his daughter. The car now resides as a museum piece in Craig, Colorado. The blanket is two-tone tan and remains in remarkable condition, with only slight tattering along the edges in a few places and no signs of moth damage. It is exciting to imagine that David Moffat himself may once have kept warm beneath this treasure while traveling in his private business car. I auctioned this amazing piece in 2020, auction 106.
