Lot: 144  Description: AT&SF ATCHISON PLATTER – top-marked 9 ¾” oval platter manufactured by Bauscher and stamped on the underside as well. This extremely rare offering is in remarkable condition. Given that it dates from late 1800s service, it is truly a treasure to find an example preserved so beautifully. I have had the pleasure of handling several rare Santa Fe patterns, and this one is no exception. It is believed this pattern was most likely used on trains operating between Chicago and Kansas City, Chicago and St. Louis, and possibly between Barstow, California, and San Francisco. One of the standout pieces in this issue, only four examples have surfaced to date, and this is the second I have had the privilege of handling.
