Lot: 102 Description: PULLMAN CAR PLATE – stainless steel name plate reads, “National Frontier” and measures 23” x 2 1/8”. Used on Union Pacific Streamliners. The National series had 12 cars that were built in 1955. Each with 14 sleeping sections, each with multiple berths. Good condition.
UPDATE: "The Union Pacific Nationals were 6-4-6 cars, essentially the same accommodations as an American. The only difference is the Bedrooms on that Nationals were in the middle of the car and in the Americans they are swapped with the roomettes, being placed at the vestibule end of the car (4-6-6). The UP's 14-Section cars were in the "Alpine" series, all of which that were converted to coaches 1965-66." Shared from one of my clients.
