Lot: 14  Description: SANTA FE PAPERWEIGHT – A rare cast iron paperweight depicting a reclining lion, originally created by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway in the early 1880s. These paperweights were believed to be distributed to select agents and executives as a symbol of strength and goodwill—especially toward British investors. Many were later melted down, making surviving examples highly collectible. This piece shows its age with a rich patina and remains a compelling artifact of early railroad promotional history.
