Lot: 222 Description: MORSE BUSINESS CAR TRAY- 11” X 7 ½” oval footed bread tray with ornate embossed border. Bottom stamped and manufactured by Reed & Barton. This early pattern was used on the Morse business car which was owned by Western Union Telegraph Company. Named after the inventor of the telegraph John Morse and built by the Pullman company. The car was eventually sold to Green Bay Western and served as their second business car, the GB&W 500. It was later replaced in 1944 when GB&W bought the Roamer and was sold to an unnamed circus operation in Wisconsin. Good used condition and early. Minimum bid: $50 Price Realized: $320 |
