Lot: 121  Description: SANTA FE HOPI PLAQUE – cast aluminum wall plaque painted in turquoise blue, maroon, black and tan colors. This design is referred to as Father Sky and created from designs inspired by the Hopi Indians. Measures 27 ½” x 17 ½”. These amazing pieces of art were made for the El Capitan trains and first ordered in 1954. “Using Native Designs, Paul Phillipe Cret and assisted John Harbeson of Philadelphia, along with Chicago based designer Sterling McDonald and Santa Fe’s Roger Birdseye, worked together with the Budd Company to create artistic interiors like none other.” (Quoted from Al Wilcoxen.” I am pleased to be offering a set of 4 with one at a time listed in my upcoming catalogs. This one does have a few light scratches and wear but given the age very acceptable. I have had the pleasure of offering several of these over the years and this is no exception. Without a doubt one of the stars of this issue.
