Lot: 482 Description: The SILVERTON RAILROAD COMPANY PASS – 1888 buckskin pass issued to Hon. C.H. Abbott. This extremely rare and delicate offering is an annual pass No. A430 and signed by Otto Mears. Records are showing the recipient as a Justice of the Peace however we are not sure where. I did find a Judge Abbott buried in the San Juan Cemetery in 1905. This pass is in amazing condition considering the material used. The graphics on this are still quite sharp, however, I do believe that the recipient and Mears signatures may have been highlighted at some point. It was not uncommon for the ink to fade on these. Still nicely done and without a doubt of all the passes these are definitely the rarest. The opportunity to obtain such a valuable a treasured addition does not come often so don’t miss out.
