Lot: 225 Description: GREAT NORTHERN CHEESE HOLDER – bottom stamped Great Northern Ry on applied manufacturers tag from M&B Co. I was able to find a similar piece on page 190 of “Silver In the Diner”, by John Fowler. Described as an Edam cheese holder designed to place a ball of cheese in the center. This appears to be missing a bowl that would have fit in the base but does have a soldered utensil holder on the side. Interesting piece from the Neros estate. Minimum bid: $40 Price Realized: $80 |
