Lot: 158 Description: AT&SF CORN COB SERVER – top marked with logo and hallmarked M China L. This desirable and rare offering was thought to have been a welcome addition to the dining options onboard the train. Filling the bowl with butter and placing the cob on top, however when the diner picked up the cob, they found that the butter would drip down their shirts, making for an embarrassing situation and often a reason for the staff to be chastised. It appears that not many of these were made due to the problem. This measures 9” x 2 ¼ and stands 3” high. It has two small underside chips but still a welcome addition and great display.
