Lot: 63 Description: UNION PACIFIC BADGE – red, white & blue enameled nickel badge #2 with Overland Route logo and small burgess clasp on reverse. Hallmarked Robbins & Co Attleboro Mass. Excellent condition.
UPDATE: I was contacted and advised that this was actually a Stewardess Nurse Badge used on the Challenger Train that ran between Chicago & Los Angeles. The former curator of the UP Museum Don Snoddy shared this information with Calvin Wright who contacted me. Mr. Snoddy told Calvin that the Railroad only made a handful of these and numbered them 1 and 2. This history provides us with a new appreciation for this historic piece.
