Lot: 496  Description: RIO GRANDE SOUTHERN RR/ SILVERTON RR PASS – 1892 Otto Mears silver filigree pass issued to. H. Collbran. Henry Collbran was the General Manager of the Colorado Midland Railroad and in 1895 he helped to create the Midland Terminal Railway in Cripple Creek, Colorado. In 1891 the town of Collbran was named after him in hopes of building a railroad there. Pass is hallmarked Spitz, Santa Fe and is in beautiful condition. Missing the original leather case however, the past owner had a leather case made with a nickel engraved applied plaque. These valuable and treasured passes still command great attention, and the added bonus of such wonderful Colorado Railroad history is the icing on the cake.
