Lot: 116 Description: D&RGW BUILDER’S PLATE – ALCO/GE cast iron plate No. 74684 built January 1947 from engine 6001; Class PA-1. Plate measures 12 1/8” x 6 1/8”. Front appears sand blasted but reverse shows typical scale with surface rust. Engine was scrapped in 1967. This is the first of only 3 PA’s built and recognized as a very beautiful diesel engine. A rare plate that will be a treasure for the new owner and a star of this issue. Minimum bid: $500 Price Realized: $6,750 |
