Lot: 103  Description: SUMTER LUMBER COMPANY PLATE – Baldwin Locomotive Works brass builders plate #52709 built in December 1919. Off of a 2-6-0 engine #4. Located in Electric Mill, Mississippi the company was incorporated in 1900. In 1910 the mill was destroyed by fire and the company rebuilt as an all-electric mill in 1911. Operations ceased in 1941. Plate measures 9 ¼” and still holds curve from boiler mount. A nice offering complete with a black & white photo of the engine.
