Lot: 327 Description: FITCHBURG RR LANTERN – on shoulder of 1882 Thompson double wire guard bell bottom frame with glass fount. Comes with questionable green embossed serif letter "FRR" 6" extended base globe. Frame has serial #15331 stamped on the cap. Frame is dark with surface rust. Globe is thin glass with flake chips on top and bottom edges.
There is no question in regard to the frame as this is an early and desirable piece. Unfortunately, there are questions as to the authenticity of the globe. I have had comments on both sides of the isle. So the starting bid has been greatly reduced and I will leave it to the buyers.
