Lot: 25 Description: ST LOUIS IRON MOUNTAIN & SOUTHERN TRAY – large bronze footed presentation tray with heavily embossed grape vine border. Center has applied nickel plated brass engraved plaque that reads, “Presented to R.P. Dalton by the employees of The Central and Valley Divisions of the StLIM&S RY, June 29,1904. This impressive piece measures 29 ½” x 18 ½”. I tried to find a reference to Mr. Dalton however, I have been unable to identify him. I did read that the Dalton gang had robbed one of the trains, but I doubt they would have presented this to any of them. Piece is tarnished with no manufacturers marks shown. A unique offering.
