Lot: 401 Description: FL&CC RR CO LOCK (Florence & Cripple Creek) embossed on panel of brass heart shaped switch lock with no manufacturers marks shown. Comes with matching serif letter F&CCRR Co key manufactured by Fraim and stamped “SAMPLE” on reverse. Complete with 8 links of steel chain with hook on the end. No spring in the key cover and stamped S303. Nice natural patina and in good working order. Not sure what to think of the key as it is the right cut, but the designation sends up questions. Lots of theories but possibly this was a salesman’s sample? Still a rare and desirable Colorado lock. Minimum bid: $3,000 Price Realized: $5,500 |
