Lot: 97 Description: GREENLEE BROS & CO PLATE – cast iron plate with serial No. 17307. Plate measures 10 ¼” x 5 3/8”. A little research reveals this company was started in 1866. They built large complex machines including a Railcar that was outfitted to produce finished railway ties every 10 seconds. This plate number shows whatever it is off, it was built in 1909. Definite railroad connection so a little more digging could find it is a real treasure. Minimum bid: $20 Price Realized: $20 |
