Lot:Description: DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN WATERCOLOR – Original painting by Mike Pearsall of D&RGW K-27 narrow gauge 2-8-2 engine #462 at Durango, Colorado. Painted in the early 1950’s this engine was sometimes leased to the RGS as well as all lines of the D&RGW narrow gauge empire. Mr. Pearsall besides being a prolific painter worked for PFM (Pacific Fast Mail) the brass model importer and established their book publishing division. His work is prized by railroad collectors with his larger paintings when available sell in the 10k range. This measures 17 ¼ x 10 3/8”. A beautiful piece ready to display. Correction: I stated this was painted in the 50's. Mr Pearsall began working in the 50's for several advertising agencies. This painting was purchased directly from him in the 80's at one of the many Narrow Gauge Conventions that he exhibited his work at. Mr. Pearsall passed away in 1998.
