Lot: 84 Description: NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS PLATE – large brass oval builders’ plate #255 built in 1931 at the Railway Workshops. Plate measures 17” x 10 3/8”. #858 is written on reverse which could suggest the engine number. Has 4 extra holes made in the center along with 4 outer rim mounting holes. Remnants of old red paint visible. This one is in right off the engine condition.
Please note: I have been advised that this plate is from C858 a 2-6-2 switching locomotive built at their Hutt Works. Minimum bid: $100 Price Realized: $110 |
