Lot: 98 Description: HOUSTON BEAUMONT & NEW ORLEANS RR PLATE- American Locomotive Co. Cooke Works brass builders’ plate #26695 built in January 1903. This was a 4-6-0 engine #216. This is an Alco transitional Plate with the 5-digit construction number. Plate measures 12" diameter and still holds boiler mount curve. The engine was eventually sold to the International & Great Northern and numbered 325 and finally became MP #325. Typical scratches but overall very acceptable and an early and harder to find example. Minimum bid: $300 Price Realized: $2,800 |
