Lot: 94 Description: DULUTH & IRON RANGE RR PLATE - Baldwin Locomotive Works round brass plate No. 56507 built May 1923. Plate measures 9 1/4" and still holds curve from boiler mount. Reverse stamped, :1248 1/4 E 1283,” Built for engine #309 a Class N2 2-8-2 engine. Renumbered for Duluth Missabe & Iron Range #1309. Engine was scrapped in 1959. Appears to be in original condition with evidence of scale on reverse. A desirable plate sure to please. Minimum bid: $300 Price Realized: $625 |
