UNION PACIFIC OVERLAND LOGO
Lot: 134  Description: UNION PACIFIC OVERLAND LOGO – Terra Cotta stone building plaque measuring approximately 33” in diameter and 6” deep. This amazing architectural offering was reportedly rescued from a building in Denver and was found under a platform at Union Station many years ago, most likely when they began restoration in 2004. From there, it was in the hands of a private owner. At one time, a casing using drywall and a wooden shelf on top was built around the plaque. What remains of this display is in the photographs found online. Overall, this measures 62" x 38" and weighs well over 200 lbs. This item does show understandable chips, cracks and weathering but considering the age, it is in amazing condition. I believe this might be the first time something like this has been offered publicly. The fact that it was salvaged and not destroyed is a true testament to the person or persons who recovered it, saving a true historic and beautifully designed relic from this line. This item will need to be picked up directly from me but will fit easily in the back of a mid-size SUV or any larger vehicle. I cannot begin to explain how stunning this is to see in person as the photos do not do it justice. In my opinion, this could really be a museum-quality piece. To an individual buyer, this could be restored and displayed as a true centerpiece in any collection. Surely to be cherished for years to come.
