Lot: 128 Description: SANTA FE DEPOT CLOCK –PLEASE NOTE: It has been brought to my attention by David Nicholson who's name is on the inside tag. David repaired these clocks for the Santa Fe and is 100% sure this particular clock was not used by the Santa Fe. The number is not consistent and he did not sign the inside tag. So I am reducing the minimum and selling it as is. It is still a Seth Thomas Clock and the dial is definitely authentic but the other issues are areas for concern.
Seth Thomas schoolhouse style clock with original metal enameled face. Dial reads, “Santa Fe Railway System Standard Dial.” Tag on inside reads, “N510 over Carbondale, KS, David Nicholson.” Oak case shows some light scratches, and the dial has some wear to the enamel. The Santa Fe was known to replace the dials over the years due to the wear that occurred. This is definitely an original. It is in working order; however, it appears to be running fast, which can be adjusted with the bolt below the pendulum. Minimum bid: $100 Price Realized: $550 |
