Lot: 85 Description: SOUTHERN PACIFIC - Rebuilt Los Ang. Shops Oct. 1909 brass cast plate measures 11 7/8" x 6" and has slight curve from boiler mount. Reverse has incised number 6195. There is a hole drilled from the back side that has left a small hole just below the "A". The plate appears to be from SP 4-8-0 #2939, previously #2839, previously #1993, rebuilt from compound to simple operation in 10/18/09 and scrapped January 29. 1949 at the Brooklyn Shops. My thanks to Ron Muldowney for his help in researching this plate. From the Askevold estate I was able to find this listed on one of his earlier inventory sheets dated 1969. A rare offering.
