Lot: 101 Description: LOCOMOTIVE TORCH – brass/copper presentation torch engraved, “W.C. Chapman Master Mechanic Eagle Grove to Theo. N. Mann.” No manufacturers marks shown. This one measures 15” high and 3” across the bottom in excellent condition. I was able to find a reference to W.C. Chapman in The Fireman’s Magazine dated June 1884 where he was being thanked by the members of Lodge #132 for procuring framed pictures of locomotives from Baldwin and Grant to be hung in the halls of the lodge. Eagle Grove was in Iowa. A little history to go along with this historic piece. Minimum bid: $100 Price Realized: $170 |
