Lot: 392 Description: Ia CEN RY (Iowa Central) embossed letters on body of brass eight lever pancake lock with no manufacturer’s marks shown but again these were generally manufactured by Slaymaker. Has No. 58 stamped on the shackle. This lock is in great condition considering it was found metal detecting. The shackle moves freely, however there is not spring and the levers will not move so most likely it would need to be restored. A couple of scratches on the sides but overall very acceptable and without a doubt a rare lock. The Iowa Central was an early line started in 1888. Most all memorabilia from this line is very sought after making this lock no exception. Minimum bid: $500 Price Realized: $1,800 |
