Lot: 112  Description: DENVER & SALT LAKE - brass builder's plate #401 from Lima Locomotive Corporation. This rare and exquisite plate is off of a standard-gauge Mikado engine. In 1915, the D&SL railroad purchased eight Mikado engines from Lima and numbered them 400-407. This plate is very large, measuring 21 1/2" in diameter, 1/2" thick. The plate comes with a beautiful custom wood display that brings the full measurements to 27" diameter, 2" thick. Center mounting post has been cut and there is a split on one of the braces. There are a couple of gouges on the face of the outer edge, and four extra holes have been drilled for the display mounting. This is an incredible piece that I am proud to have the pleasure of offering in this auction.
