Lot: 127 Description: GUALALA MILL COMPANY - brass locomotive front-end plate #3 manufactured by Baldwin Locomotive Works. Plate measures 22" diameter and stamped on reverse 4/22 C 65. This was off a 0-4-2T logging engine built in 1882. The engine was named the F. Heywood. The mill was located in Mendocino, California. Without a doubt this is one of the stars of this issue. The plate has been cleaned and beautifully enameled for display. Extremely rare this was one of the stars of the Todd Kettwig estate. I know his family will be pleased to know that the next caretaker will treasure this as much as Todd did. Minimum bid: $1,500 Price Realized: $5,500 |
