Lot: 76 Description: TONOPAH & TIDEWATER - Baldwin Locomotive Works round brass #9 front end engine plate from a 4-6-0 engine built in 1907. Plate measures 16 1/4" diameter and has been beautiful restored for display. Reverse number reads, "10 \ 32 D 1060. This standard gauge line was started in 1904 and ran in California & Nevada. Relics from this line are increasingly more difficult to come by and when they do appear, they tend to get strong attention. No question that this plate is one of the stars of this issue and again from the Kettwig estate. Minimum bid: $1,000 Price Realized: $1,950 |
