Lot: 44 Description: SANTA FE DRUM MAJOR UNIFORM - This is definitely one of the coolest things I have had the pleasure of handling. Complete including, coat, pants, (2) belts and a stunning high domed hat with feather plume and beautiful large starburst badge. Black belt has a large brass buckle with enameled Warbonnet logo badge. There is also a white leather belt without a badge. Not sure if at some point the badge on the black belt was to be moved to the white one? Colorful red, white, blue & gold design. Coat is heavily embroidered and appears to be size 31. Hat shows size as large. Uniform is in good used condition showing one belt loop detached otherwise I don't see any major flaws. It should be noted that there will also be offered in a future sale a similar uniform that would have been worn by one of the musicians as well as the leather base drum cover, sheet music and more. From Warren Scholl's estate this incredible relic is a treasure to be enjoyed by the next caretaker for years to come. We know how the railroads invested so much in advertising and this goes without saying was a great example of the efforts put forth. Minimum bid: $300 Price Realized: $825 |
