Lot: 102 Description: SANTA FE DRUMHEAD -REPRODUCTION Santa Fe Golden Gate lighted rear end sign. Colorful green, orange and gold with sunburst design behind the logo. Measures 26" diameter and 6" deep. Reverse painted design with white background. The two pieces of glass measure 1/2" thick. The metal can house’s 5 – 15- watt bulbs. Some chipping of the enamel on the can but otherwise nice condition. Glass is beautiful. The wiring is modern so possibly a newer can, but the glass appears original and heavy. The Golden Gate train first launched in 1935 and ran until 1965 from Los Angeles to San Francisco. A great piece of Santa Fe history ready to be enjoyed by the next lucky owner. From Warren Scholl's estate.
PLEASE NOTE: IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS IS A REPRODUCTION MADE BY PAUL MCDONALD A FEW YEARS AGO. HE ORIGINALLY OFFERED THESE FOR $350. I AM ADJUSTING THE MINIMUM AND IT WOULD STILL BE NICE PIECE FOR SOMEONE TO DISPLAY. Minimum bid: $100 Price Realized: $1,250 |
