Lot: 435 Description: PORT READING - cobalt blue extended base globe housed in brass top single wire guard wire bottom frame with twist off fount. Frame is manufactured by Williamson & Cassidy, Philadelphia. This beautiful and rare globe shows a few small no show top & bottom edge flake chips otherwise nice. The frame has been cleaned leaving small pinholes in the shoulder along with pitted surface. A few fatigue splits on the edges of the brass top as well. Evidence of solder repair to the wire joints and bottom of the fuel fount. It will be a long time before another beautiful globe appears. From the Shankweiler estate.
