Lot: 585  Description: UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD - hard bound book titled, "Western Incidents Connected with The Union Pacific Railroad" by Seymour. c. 1867. Cover page reads, "Incidents of a Trip Through the Great Platte Valley, to the Rocky Mountains and Laramie Plains in the Fall of 1866 with a Synoptical Statement of the Various Pacific Railroads, and an Account of the Great Union Pacific Railroad Excursion to the One Hundredth Meridian of Longitude." Inside front cover has hand written note that reads, "Hon Alpheus Hardy, This brief, "Incidents" in history of progress and prospects of the great National Enterprise of the age, may be deposited in Philips Academy Library at Andover, Mass. With regards of your class-mate May 1867 FJ Carter Springfield, Ill.” This is truly a museum quality piece that will be a cherished addition to any collection. 129 pages long and in very acceptable condition with only the spine showing wear.
