Lot: 424 Description: DANE WESTLAKE & CO- brass & nickel plated single wire guard presentation lantern with drop down fuel container. Buttons on either side are pinched to release the cage. Shoulder is nickel plated while the rest of frame is brass. Buttons on either side also release the fuel pot with whale oil burner. Comes with clear unmarked globe with polished top & bottom edge. Bottom does have a few no-show chips. Bottom hallmark shows 1864 and 1865 Wm Westlake Patents. A beautiful and scarce example from the Neil Shankweiler estate.
