Lot: 56 Description: BLOEDEL STEWART & WELCH COMPANY - Lima Locomotive Works Incorporated plate No. 3312 dated 1927. Off of a Shay Engine No.11. A logging company located in British Columbia which was contracted to supply the building materials for the Grand Trunk Railway. This was the first Pacific Coast Shay class 3-PC-13, manufactured as a demonstrator and sold to the BS&W in 1927. Reportedly designed by Lima to complete with the Willamette logging locomotives. Brass diamond shaped plate measures 12" x 7" in nice condition. One of the stars of this issue this rare example will be a treasure for the new owner. Minimum bid: $1,000 Price Realized: $3,200 |
