Lot: 54  Description: ALABAMA TENNESSEE & NORTHERN - NO. 32 front end number plate which was a 4-4-0 engine built by Rogers in March 1905. The engine was originally built for Jackson & Kansas City and went on to New Orleans, Mobile & Chicago in 1909. Then became GM&N in 1917 and went to the AT&N in 1928. Plate measures 17 1/2" diameter. The mounting post was cut from the locomotive but a wooden mount has been made to accommodate display. Plate weighs 30lbs so keep that in mind. Cast iron with brass applied numbers. A wonderful piece of railroad history with a long and diverse adventure that will be a welcome addition to any collection. Please note: I did remove the wooden back and will be adding a couple of photos showing the original mount. The center post was cut off of the engine but the mounting plate still shows 1892 patent.
