Lot: 514 Description: DENVER & RIO GRANDE / WESTERN PACIFIC - 1910 colorful system map printed on vellum by the Passenger Department of the D&RG announcing the opening of the Western Pacific Railway August 22nd, 1910. The reverse is a complete letter signed by S.K. Hooper GP&TA describing the opening and the amenities found on board. Also touting the completion of the Rio Grande - Western Pacific Union Passenger Station constructed at a cost of $750,000.00. Engraved illustrations of the station as well as scenes along the line on the reverse. This unique historic piece measures approximately 35 1/2" x 12". Edges are a little frayed and reverse side is showing darkened areas from age. Still very acceptable. Minimum bid: $75 Price Realized: $280 |
