Lot: 26 Description: WOODEN TRAIN - large handmade wooden steam engine and tender that was purchased by my consignor over 35 years ago from an estate sale in California. He was told that the gentleman who lived there worked for the Santa Fe for 43 years . He was 93 when he passed and apparently had made two of these. He was of Mexican descent which explains the the badging on the tender. This is really very well done. The train itself measures 37” long with the tender and the track is 39 1/2” x 6”. Larger wheels measure 4” diameter. Overall this one stands 15” tall at the highest point. It is completely carved from wood with only a few metal pieces used to secure the wheels.
